Diamond and Alliance would like to thank all retailers, suppliers, creators and other industry professionals who attended this year’s Retailer Summit.

Over 600 retailers made the trip to Charm City and participated in three days of business-focused workshops, took advantage of the opportunity to talk face-to-face with fellow retailers and Diamond/Alliance employees, visited Geppi’s Entertainment Museum, bid on rare auction items to benefit several charities, and much more.

There seemed to be a fantastic mix of first-time Baltimore Summit attendees and those that have made a point of attending Diamond/Alliance’s Summits every year.

“This is my first Summit, and I like it,” said Douglas Spark of Lancaster, PA’s The Comic Store. “I enjoyed all the presentations I went to, and I picked up something helpful from all of them.”

“I’ve come to these things for the past four or five years,” said Michael Yates of Showcase Comics in Bryn Mawr, PA. “Mostly, I like being able to sit down and talk with other retailers…. It’s also important to come so you can talk with your reps and get some face time in with people. If you’ve had questions about anything for a while, this is a really good time to talk face-to-face. It’s good to have a face to associate with the voice on the phone.”

Diamond & Alliance would also like to take the opportunity to thank our Summit sponsors, without whom the Summit would not be possible.

Thanks to the publishers and game vendors that attended and sponsored the events, retailers were given a glimpse at projects and products coming in 2010, had the opportunity to pick up some great giveaway items and door prizes, and met fan-favorite creators and familiar industry professionals at the suppliers’ booths.

“This was one of the most successful Summits I’ve ever had the privilege to be a part of,” commented Diamond Vice President of Sales & Marketing Roger Fletcher. “Retailers packed the Baltimore Convention Center, and it said a lot about our industry and its future. From the smiles, laughter, and conversations, I’d say everyone had a great time and got the most out of the experience, and that’s what the Summits are all about.”
